U.S. will lift Jackson-Vanik amendment for Moldova in the near future. The statement belongs to U.S. Ambassador to Moldova, William Moser, made during an interview for „Kishineovskyi Obozrevateli”, quoted by viza.md<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Such an attitude towards Moldova is an example of reaction to the model of democratic governance. The U.S. administration has been very supportive of these efforts and, for the first time, the key committees in U.S. Congress have passed the necessary legislation to lift the application of Jackson-Vanik on Moldova. We are very hopeful it will pass before Congress adjourns in this session. It will allow for Moldova to have the status of a “most favored nation” for trade with United States. With amendment lifting, the investments will be encouraged and trade relations between the countries will be strengthened”, Ambassador William Moser said.<\/p>\n
