Her visit implied direct consultations with Moldovan governmental and non-governmental officials on the current situation in the country in terms of trafficking for labor exploitation and child trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Following my visit I have continued my productive co-operation with the Moldovan authorities, and congratulate the government on the new Action Plan adopted on July 4, which takes into account some of the recommendations of my report,&rdquo; Maria Grazia Giammarinaro said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I also welcome the government&rsquo;s constructive engagement with non-governmental organizations to establish and enhance the National Referral System for victims,&rdquo; she added.<\/p>\n<p>The OSCE official invites the Moldovan Government to sustain political commitment to anti-trafficking action. Her solution is to encourage the parliamentary sessions on this problem. Another issue she envisaged was the enhancement of child protection measures in order to avert any forms of child trafficking. She also believes that by removing all fraudulent recruitment practices, the authorities will be able to prevent labor trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>As many other foreign officials have already suggested, the OSCE Special Representative and Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings encourages Moldova &ldquo;to strengthen the law enforcement and criminal justice response, including through ensuring legislative consistency between the Criminal Code and the Anti-Trafficking Law, and providing regular extensive training for law enforcement, prosecutors, judges, and pro bono and legal aid lawyers representing victims.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The recommendations are part of Ms. Giammarinaro&rsquo;s country visit report, which is published together with the Moldovan Government&rsquo;s comments. <\/p>\n<p>The US State Department issued a report this year stating that the Moldovan Government does not fully comply with the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking. Notwithstanding, &#8212; the report said &#8212; Moldova is making significant efforts to eliminate this issue.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The government has made progress over the past year in addressing the protection of victims and the prevention of trafficking.
