Chiril Lucinschi, the son of the former Moldovan President Petru Lucinschi, could be the next Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Moscow. The information was published on the Russian news portal regnum.ru, quoting Ministerial sources from Chisinau.<\/p>\n

“During the past days was sent the request,” the source informs. The information was not confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yet.<\/p>\n

Chiril Lucinschi is member, deputy of the Liberal-Democrat Party of Moldova. His father was the President of Moldova in 1996-2001. His name was on the list of the potential candidates. He has previously said that he is ready to carry out this term, but he doesn’t want to leave the country yet.<\/p>\n

Former Moldovan Ambassador to Russia Andrei Neguta was recalled in April after some controversial statements regarding the withdrawal of the Russian troops from Transnistria.<\/p>\n

“Two important things should be emphasized while referring to the part of the fourteenth army: there are peacekeepers that stay at the checkpoints between those two banks of Nistru River and there are also peacekeepers who watch over the ammunition storehouse from Cobasna village. The question is – what will happen if no more protection on these storehouses will be provided?” Mr. Neguta said in April this year.
