Moldova has achieved a significant progress in implementing the requirements within the Eastern Partnership. Stefan Fule, EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy said that Moldovans succeeded progress towards political stabilization, the return of the Communist opposition to Parliament as well as the election of the President. Furthermore, Mr. Fule emphasized the progress regarding the reforms implemented recently and the progress on the Transnistrian conflict management.<\/p>\n

The commend was made in a statement today after the Commissioner met with Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat who was in Brussels for several days.<\/p>\n

“We agreed the priorities to sustain the very active dynamics of EU-Moldova relations. We acknowledged the good spirit prevailing in our Association Agreement negotiations and the progress made since in talks on our future deep and comprehensive free trade area, which will deepen Moldova’s economic integration with the EU,” Mr. Fule said.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, the EU official emphasized the need of strengthening the fight against corruption and improving the business and investment climate.<\/p>\n

“In this regard, we agreed that strict respect for the rule of law was crucial,” the European representative said.<\/p>\n

Moldovan Premier said the Republic of Moldova is making efforts to have a fast and qualitative negotiation of the Free Trade Agreement. He told the EU Commissioner that the Moldovan citizens deserve to have a full access to the European values, as well as a better quality of life.
