The EU and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs Catherine Ashton welcome the passage of the Law Ensuring Equality of Chances. The statement was given by Ms. Ashton’s spokesperson, Maja Kocijan\u010di\u010d to Radio Free Europe\/Radio Liberty newsroom of Moldova.<\/p>\n

“We will monitor the implementation of this law within the current framework of the EU-Moldova dialogue,” Ms. Kocijan\u010di\u010d said.<\/p>\n

According to her, such a bill is a positive step forward to assuring tolerance and equality of all people from the Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\n

“As much as concerns the action plan on visa liberalization, from our perspective, the enactment of a thorough legislation against discrimination (which doesn’t mean just a law, it gets deeper), is the scale for passing the first phase,” the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n

“The most important thing for us is the respect and fight for tolerance and human rights,” concluded Maja Kocijan\u010di\u010d .<\/p>\n
