The Moldovans haven’t used at least the smallest part of the chances that appeared in the co-operation relations between Moldova and the United States. The statement belongs to Oazu Nantoi, a political analyst from Moldova, Info-Prim Neo news agency informs.<\/p>\n

“I remember the times when the first embassies appeared. The US Embassy was among the first. We were glad that we were recognized as a state and the United States was the chance for Moldova. But Moldova used not even the smallest part of those chances. The problem is in the people,” said Oazu Nantoi during a conference which marked 20 years of diplomatic relations between Moldova and the USA.<\/p>\n

According to the expert, the USA provides support to the countries which are heading toward democracy.<\/p>\n

“When the Millennium Challenge Account program was ready to provide large amounts of money for dealing with our problems, the existing corruption hindered the plans. It is our fault that we cannot achieve more significant results,” Oazu Nantoi said.<\/p>\n

He believes that the Moldovans should change their way of action if they want to succeed.<\/p>\n

“If we want to count on somebody’s support, we must change our behavior. The diplomats see that we say one thing in Washington, but do another thing at home,” Mr. Nantoi said.<\/p>\n
