The Secretary of North Carolina State, Elaine Marshall is visiting Moldova these days. She will hold several meetings with women’s organizations on the subject of women’s political empowerment, the US Embassy to Moldova reports.<\/p>\n

The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy holds tonight a reception for Secretary Marshall at Leogrand Convention Center.<\/p>\n

“Many of Moldova’s most prominent women from politics, business, civil society, and the media will attend this reception and be recognized for their outstanding leadership. Secretary Marshall will also encourage these leaders to mentor the next generation of Moldova’s women leaders,” shows the US Embassy’s press release.<\/p>\n

Friday the US official will participate in a debate at the American Resource Center from Chisinau where she will be talking about the Women’s Role in Politics. The last visit of Ms. Marshall to Moldova took place in June 2011.<\/p>\n

Ms. Elaine Marshall is the first woman ever elected to a statewide, executive branch office in the State of North Carolina.<\/p>\n

The Republic of Moldova and North Carolina established a special partnership in April 1999 designed to intensify the bilateral co-operation in fields like culture, science, academic exchanges, health care and others.
