According to the agency, Mr. Soevndal has been in office since October 2011. Under the arrangements brought in by the Lisbon Treaty, he will not chair EU foreign ministers&lsquo;meetings, but will informally assist the work of the EU&rsquo;s foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton.<\/p>\n<p>Transnistria is a breakaway region of the Republic of Moldova which went apart after the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
