Chisinau \/ Moldova.org \/ — At the end of 2011, the Russian vice-premier Dmitry Rogozin made harsh and insulting statements towards Romania and other European countries about the NATO’s shield from Deveselu.<\/p>\n

The European partners of the USA in NATO were called “lambs to sacrifice,” while the Romanians were gibed and told that they “enjoy to picture themselves as important administrators of missiles’ interception,” write the journalists of Romania’s Jurnalul National newspaper.<\/p>\n

Mr. Rogozin was Russia’s NATO envoy from January 2008. He has previously stated that the American involvement in the European states’ domestic affairs brings them huge services and attracts more threats. The Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs had replayed at that time.<\/p>\n

After a while another statement came from Constantin Rauta, the man who worked on the design of the anti-ballistic missiles defense system. He says that the former Russia’s NATO diplomat is wrong when he speaks about the decision of the United States to deploy a defense system.<\/p>\n

“This was a right decision which leads to more security for the European states. As right was my native country’s (Romania) decision to accept the deployment of some parts of the defense system on its territory,” added Constantin Rauta, who’s an anticommunist dissident which asked the US for asylum in 1973.<\/p>\n

During his stay in the United States of America, Constantin Rauta worked at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Gre¬en¬belt from Maryland. After that he worked 10 years on the project for development of the anti-ballistic missiles defense system.
\nMr. Rauta denies the allegation that this shield is oriented towards Russia.<\/p>\n

“Russia’s statements that the deployment of such a defense system would threat the security and sovereignty of Russia are absurd, and are made wishing to continue its foreign affairs based on threats,” said Constantin Rauta.<\/p>\n

He kept on saying that Russia “continues the aggressive politics of the former Soviet state, aggression which would have existed even without the deployment of this system.”<\/p>\n

The dissident ends his statement by noticing that Russia should give up their politics of threatening their neighbors and to “officially ask for forgiveness for the crimes committed from 1917 until today, including those in Romania and Bessarabia, and think of redemption of communism victims.”<\/p>\n

The anti-ballistic missiles defense system will be enabled in 2015. It will be able to intercept and destroy the target missiles.
