 By Diana Ungureanu\/ Chisinau\/ Moldova.ORG\/ — The situation in the petroleum region in Western Kazakhstan, where on 16-17 December took place mass revolts, remains tense.<\/p>\n

The riots that have burned the city Janaozen, on 16 December, passed on 17 December in the railway station of city Shepte of the same region. According to General Prosecutor of Kazakhstan, a group of protesters, statements with those of Janaozen, stoped trains and started train station devastation. To stop the devastation, the police were forced to shoot in the group of protesters.<\/p>\n

In the same day, of December 17, in the city the Actau,, which is located at 150 km from Janaozen, in front of the Local Administration there gathered hundreds of people that declared the solidarity with protesters from Janaozen.<\/p>\n

To maintain public order in Janaozen, there was declared the exceptional situation until 7 January 2012. The same thing want and the townspeople of Actau, who have stated grievances against those who seek to disturb public order.<\/p>\n

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbaev, in his speech to the people of Georgia stated that there was formed a State Commission to maintain law and order in the area, for the investigation of the case and punish the murderers of the riots. The President also urged the Kazakh people to condemn the actions of Janaozen and keep calm.<\/p>\n

Children holidays, that followed the upheaval in the region, was increased by a several days, so that they will enter winter vacation today. This decision has been taken in relation to the exceptional circumstances that were created in the area, said the head of the Department of Education of the region, Dinara Jumasheva.<\/p>\n
