The EU-Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee has worked out and sent a string of recommendations to the Moldovan authorities and the EU institutions.<\/p>\n

The recommendations were adopted during the 13th meeting of the committee held in Brussels on 15-16 June 2011. They are related to the relations between the European Union and Moldova, the internal evolutions in Moldova, the regional cooperation and the Transnistrian conflict settlement.<\/p>\n

The delegation of the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee is made up of six Moldovan MPs and is headed by Liberal MP Corina Fusu. The latter told journalists that the statement emphasizes the crucial importance of the reforms implemented in Moldova’s democratic development and in achieving the goal for Moldova to become an EU member in the future.<\/p>\n

"The European officials welcome the constant pace of negotiations on an EU-Moldova association agreement, as well as the quick adoption of an action plan to handle the European Commission’s recommendations. A recommendation made to the EU is to come out with an offer on the liberalization of the visa regime for Moldova at least as generous as or even more generous in terms of timeframe and the content than those offered to the neighboring states," Fusu said.<\/p>\n

Fusu noted that the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Cooperation Committee urged the Moldovan leadership to do their best to ensure long-term stability in the country and to encourage the dialogue with all the political parties, as a way to overcome the current constitutional deadlock and avoid snap parliamentary polls.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
