"Euronews" is a European news channel which broadcasts in nine languages worldwide, but in Moldova it issues only in Russian. Thus, the texts written in English or French are translated by the Editor for Russian, so they sometimes seem to us "adapted" to the geopolitical interests of Russia. Do not ask me why Europe issues in Moldova in Russian, because I find it hard to acknowledge that Europe really wants to keep us in the language area of Moscow.<\/p>\n

We have not yet forgotten the bitter taste of the distorted news of "Euronews" during the last Russo-Georgian war. There were very tense days when the whole world, including us in Moldova, wanted to know closely how the situation was evolving. Russian editorial staff of this post allowed themselves unbalanced news, suggesting that the Russian army is the great benefit-maker, and the Georgian is a serial aggressor. It was deja vu, because for 50 years of USSR I only heard about the Nazis and Romanian fascists, and the Russian liberators.
\nRussian news of "Euronews" seem well between conflicts and wars . But when it comes to the events of April 2009 in Moldova or even the recent revolutions in the Islamic countries, impartiality of Russian voice at "Euronews" shall immediately terminate when it comes to the implications of Russia in these conflicts.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, "Euronews" gave us a new sample of journalistic imbalance in the report "No spring for Moldova". At minute 5 of the Russian edition of the film, they say that "the conflict between Moldova and Transnistria has been preserved" after "civil war was covered with Russian participation", and "Russian peacekeepers" are always present in Transnistria. I knew that the ECHR has issued almost 10 years ago the decision for Ilascu Group file, which provides a qualification of this war as one between Russia and Moldova, where Russia has participated on behalf of Transnistria, in contradiction with the normes. Moreover, any journalist knows that Russia violated its own commitment from Istanbul, by which it has promised to withdraw its army from the territory of Moldova since 1999.<\/p>\n

I’m amazed at this incompetence of the "Euronews", so I also opened the versions in French, English, Italian of the same film. I was surprised to discover that the term "Moldovan-Transnistrian war" does not exist in the versions passed into European languages, more over, the Russian Army’s illegal presence in the area is clear from the context "as evidence of the support Russia provides Transnistria "- that phrase does not exist in Russian story. Not to say that the voice of Transnistria on the need for separatism in the report comes from an MP-businessman from Tiraspol, but Moldova’s voice for territorial unity comes from a troubled worker employed by the separatist businessman…<\/p>\n

Among the founders of "Euronews" channel are 21 televisions, most of them from Europe, and a single Russian: RTR (Rossiiskoe Teleradio). Therefore the fairness policies posted on this site do not always make sense, still they are running on EU money. Russia manages, at it’s own will, on EU money, to convince the world that spring in Moldova can only come from Moscow.<\/p>\n

I wonder how such a report would be made by "Euronews" in Russian about unconstitutional action of the Metropolitan Church of Moldova priests subordinated to Moscow who required outlawing the Islamic religion in Moldova. I feel that they would passionately promote again the interests of Moscow. Unfortunately, the interest of Russian policy toward Moldova has not changed. Kremlin believes that Moldova should be kept further away from Europe, that’s why "Russian peacekeepers" have been sitting here for 20 years. The Kremlin is concerned that EU values do not reach values of Moldovan democracy, so Europe would keep us apart because we exclude Muslims, Roma, because we are corrupt, poor and intolerant. "Russnews" and Putin’s Church still win.
