The Federal Republic of Germany calls upon both Chisinau and Tiraspol to resume the negotiation process, Patricia Flor, Ambassador and Special Envoy for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, stated during her meeting with Transnistrian minister of foreign affairs Vladimir Yastrebchak in Tiraspol on Tuesday, the central Transnistrian radio has reported.<\/p>\n

According to it, the high guest said that only negotiations can bring about a mutually acceptable solution.<\/p>\n

"As a European Union member country, Germany stands ready to provide assistance. We take part in all [Transnistria-related] discussions in Brussels, and we are ready to help in the realization of various projects", said the German diplomat.<\/p>\n

Patricia Flor proposed to organize e.g. the studying of Germany’s reunification experience, which would help work out new approaches to settlement of the Moldo-Transnistrian conflict.<\/p>\n

In her words, Tiraspol and Chisinau representatives have received invitations from the German side to come to Berlin and learn more about the experience of the state building in the Federal Republic of Germany.<\/p>\n

Vladimir Yastrebchak thanked Patricia Flor for the coming and remarked that appeals to resumption of talks should be sent to those who have interrupted them unilaterally.<\/p>\n

The Transnistrian minister said that first and foremost it is necessary to resolve those problems, which emerged as a consequence of the Chisinau negotiators’ demarche undertaken in 2006 [when the then-Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration issues, Vasile Sova, quitted the negotiations held in Tiraspol with the participation of the OSCE, Russia, Ukraine, the European Union and the United States. Sova claimed then he was leaving because there was no progress whatever in ensuring free movement of people and cargoes in the Transnistria Security Zone].<\/p>\n

"For this, we need to carry out a huge and laborious work. Any measures and any actions have to be thoroughly prepared to thus guarantee that the work in this format will not stop for 5-6 years, as was in the case with the Moldovan delegation, – it should not stop over a much longer period of time", stressed Vladimir Yastrebchak.<\/p>\n
