\nMoldova’s opposition Communist Party has prohibited its deputies in parliament to decide independently concerning taking part or not in the would-be presidential-election voting.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, all the MCP’s 42 parliamentarians signed a corresponding "Political Commitment" that read: "As a deputy of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, realizing the entire degree of the Moldovan people’s trust in me as a presenter and defender of their interests, I undertake to use my mandate and the lawmaker rights exclusively in the Moldovan people’s interests and in strict accordance with MCP collective decisions, and to remember that the votes of the MCP faction and my personal voting must represent a collective position, that violation of the present commitment is a moral crime against the MCP interests and against thousands of my party comrades, who have entrusted me the right to act on their behalf".<\/p>\n

The MCP press secretary has reported that the MCP parliamentarians unanimously approved of this idea, worked out and signed the Political Commitment.<\/p>\n

As Infotag has already reported, the 3 constituent parties of the governing Alliance for European Integration have agreed to vote for Democratic Party Chairman Marian Lupu as President of the Republic of Moldova. From their part, the Communists stated that they will take part in the electoral voting only if a neutral, politically non-affiliated candidate is nominated for the presidency. To elect Lupu, the AEI of 59 MPs is short of 2 votes.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday night, the AEI formed a working group for holding negotiations with the Communists in an attempt to resolve the political crisis lasting in Moldova since the April 7, 2009 parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
