\nLeader of the anti-mafia movement and the Popular Action Movement Sergiu Mocanu intends to run for the Chisinau Mayor post within local elections this year.<\/p>\n

During a press conference on Wednesday, Mocanu said that "Chisinau is a nest of mafia and corruption, which he has combated against for many years, so, maybe, he will put himself up for the local elections this spring".<\/p>\n

Mocanu said he has already started the campaign on raising signatures for the purpose to register the movement he leads in the capacity of a political party, adding he hopes that it will be again registered in the Ministry of Justice before the local elections.<\/p>\n

"I will continue my struggle against the mafia-controlled clans and corruption. We try to create a party with a popular doctrine on the struggle against mafia, which will be joined by prosecutors, cops, customs officers, honest judges and simple citizens; and we hope that we will be registered before the local elections", Mocanu said.<\/p>\n

On the other part, leader of the anti-mafia movement proposed Prime Minister Vladimir Filat "to be very careful in his relations with first Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Vladimir Plahotniuc".<\/p>\n

"Plahotniuc is a very insidious person, and he is very dangerous due to his broad economic interests. If the Premier does not realize it now, Plahotniuc will treat him in half year in same way he did to Vladimir Voronin and his son, who were deceived by Plahotniuc", Mocanu said.<\/p>\n

He said he will continue struggling against mafia, in spite of the fact that there were initiated several criminal cases against him during his combat against the mafia-controlled clan in power, and he lost 300 thousand lei on the case of Zubco [Prosecutor General] against Mocanu.<\/p>\n
