\nChi\u015fin\u0103u \/ Moldova.ORG\/ — On the 19th of January the Transnistria region was visited by the representative of the acting president of OSCE, on the continuous conflicts, Mr.Giedrius Cekuolis. The representative of OSCE planned to meet with the administration of the minister for exterior affairs in Transnistria, the chief of the state and the representatives of the expert groups which work for the increasing of the mutual trust between Chisinau and Tiraspol.<\/p>\n

During the visit Mr. Cekuolis mentioned that in his opinion, the best solution to solve the Transnistria problem is the closer integration both of Moldova and Transnistria in Europe. Also Mr. Cekuolis declared that: “We as Europeans believe that both parts of Nistru are a part of Europe… the will of the parts is needed, If such a will not be shown, then the conflict will continue, and this will have a negative effect on the simple inhabitants, because the European community will get used to this. It is necessary to act as us, in our time we succeed to catch the “European train”. And here is necessary to not waste time. I don’t see any prerogatives why to not manifest this political will.”<\/p>\n

Also the OSCE representative mentioned the intent of OSCE to contribute to the progress of the conflict solution and the importance of 5+2 format of negotiations for OSCE. Mister Cekuolis, mentioned the importance of the expert groups for the solution of the conflict, because these groups may contribute to a political decision in the Moldo-Transnistria problem.<\/p>\n

The OSCE representative had discussions with the president of the self-proclaimed region, Igor Smirnov. During disscusions Mr. Smirnov mentioned the armed conflict between Moldova and Transnistria and the fact that Transnistria will stop in any situations the nationalism. Mr. Smirnov also mentioned about the unproductive cooperation with the Moldovan side, blaming the authorities of the Republic of Moldova for lack of cooperation.
\nAt the discussions the special representative of OSCE mentioned that, the existing problems must be solved by negotiations. In this regard OSCE plans in the new year to hold a series of consultations for the participants of the negotiation format so that the specialists of the both sides could discuss the actual problems in the interest of the population of the region. <\/p>\n

Recently Mister Smirnov made a series of declarations that transnistria does not wish to be a part of EU, and that Transnistria intends to be a part of Russia, and will work only in this direction. Also Mr. Smirnov, mentioned recently the necessity to control the internet, mass-media, especially the European and occidental mass-media and informative cites, in order to grow a generation of youth that has correct values, and is not spoiled by Europe. This actions show that Mr. Smirnov, has adopted a politics that abandoned the European values and the idea of European integration.
