\nThe government’s structure will undergo changes. The cabinet will have a body monitoring the enforcement of decisions. Amendments will soon be made to the structure of the parliament and presidency as well. The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Vlad Filat, made this statement.<\/p>\n

Vlad Filat said that the changes proposed to the MPs for consideration see the creation of a presidium that will participate in the organization of the government’s activity, in particular the elaboration of the agenda.<\/p>\n

"The prime minister and the deputy prime ministers will work in this presidium, that will make the work more coordinated," Filat said.<\/p>\n

Filat specified that the State Chancellery will remain a central public authority, and the only change due to be made will deal with the head of this institution. "The Chancellery will be led by the government’s secretary-general. The way the latter will be appointed will be established under a cabinet decision." Presently, the Chancellery is led by the state minister.<\/p>\n

Filat added that the prime minister’s control body will be created within the Chancellery; the body will monitor the enforcement of the decisions and instructions. Filat said that no decision on the appointment of a secretary-general had been made. Yet, he specified that Victor Bodiu, who held the post of state minister, has the necessary skills.<\/p>\n

The PLDM leader said that, in the future government, the decisions will be taken by majority vote of the appointed ministers and not of the present ones. Filat stressed that the cabinet members will have no right to veto. "As prime minister I will exercise my powers in line with the mandate given by the voters. If somebody has intentions to come out with veto, this is their business."<\/p>\n

The leader of the Liberal Party, (PL) Mihai Ghimpu, told the parliament meeting that the creation of a government presidium is a need and not a novelty, as this was provided for in the legislation back in 1990.<\/p>\n
