\nThe government’s structure will be changed. A draft law to this effect will be put forward to the parliament for consideration at an extraordinary meeting on 12 January.<\/p>\n

Speaker Marian Lupu said that more changes stemming from the agreement on the creation of the Alliance for European Integration (AIE) will be made. The draft provides for changes in the State Chancellery, transformation of the government’s secretariat and creation of a presidium that will ensure the functionality of the government act.<\/p>\n

"What is clear is the fact that unlike the previous structure, when the state minister was a government member, this time, the latter will be only a secretary and will not deal with politics, but with the technical part of the government’s activity. Just like in the parliament. And he\/she will not be a government member," Lupu said.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister-designate Vlad Filat refused to give details on amendments to the law on the government’s activity. He stressed that all the aspects will be clarified at the parliament meeting on 12 January. Filat merely noted that the state secretary will be subordinated to and will be appointed by the prime minister, but will not have right to vote in the cabinet.<\/p>\n

At the end of the today’s parliament meeting, the AIE leaders held a meeting during which they discussed the government programme, as well as the candidacies for the posts of ministers and amendments to the law on the government’s activity. The three leaders of the ruling alliance were concise, saying only that there were no divergences and most issues had been already settled.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
