\nPrime Minister Vlad Filat chaired a government meeting, the government’s communications and press relations department has said.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet of Ministers decided on the opening of a single desk for the documentation of foreigners. The desk will make it possible to simplify the procedure of legalizing the foreigners who immigrate in Moldova and regulate the traffick of people. The desk will be created at the Interior Ministry’s migration and asylum bureau.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the government decided to organize and hold an international exercise of managing the consequences of large-scale emergencies "Codrii 2011" (Forests – 2011). This action will be organized jointly with the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre and will bring together 300 rescuers from Moldova and 600 from abroad.<\/p>\n

Under another decision, the cabinet will earmark 8.6 million lei from a special account to assist flood-victims to buy dwellings and construct houses. From the allocated money, the State Chancellery will pay for purchased dwellings, and the Constructions and Regional Development Ministry will pay for the construction of houses for flood-hit families.<\/p>\n

Also today, the government approved a string of decisions in the healthcare sector. The cabinet approved a regulation on the mechanism of inter-sector cooperation in the medical and social area, so as to prevent and reduce the infant mortality rate and of children aged up to five at home. The document will contribute to implementing the Millennium Development Goals in terms of reducing the infant mortality rate. Another regulation concerns the organization and work of an independent commission of approval at the health ministry and criteria for authorizing transplant. At the same time, the government adopted a regulation on sanitary issues and children’s hygiene in extra-school institutions, which will help strengthen children’s health condition and intellectual state.<\/p>\n

Under another decision, the cabinet approved the minimal quality standards of social services provided to victims of family violence. The document sees that these standards will be implemented by providers of social services under the control of the Labour, Social Protection and Family Ministry. The assisted people will benefit from services of protection and placement, juridical, social, psychological and healthcare assistance, etc.<\/p>\n

The government appointed Moldovan Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Romania Iurie Renita as non-resident ambassador to Montenegro and Serbia.<\/p>\n

Under a cabinet decision, 15 school busses were passed to the management of local public authorities. As many as 1,300 children will benefit from these services. Twenty transport units are to be made available in 2011.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
