\nA week after the 28 November snap parliamentary election, Moldova’s political situation is still uncertain. The parties that made it to Moldovan parliament did not form a ruling coalition yet. The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) announced that talks are still to be held, while the Party of Communists (PCRM) and the Democratic Party (PD) denied the formation of a coalition.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party, Mihai Godea has told MOLDPRES that the meeting scheduled with the Party of Communists would not be held today. "We will unveil later our position towards this." Godea said that he did not believe that the PCRM and the PD would form a ruling alliance.<\/p>\n

The leader of the Liberal Party (PL), Mihai Ghimpu has also said that the talks had started.<\/p>\n

On 5 December, the Russian-speaking media issued information that the PCRM and the PD had formed an alliance at the request of Russian leadership. The information came after the meeting of the two leaders, Vladimir Voronin and Marian Lupu, with the head of the Russian president s administration, Sergey Naryshkin.<\/p>\n

Although the two leaders made uncertain statements and said that they had discussed only Moldovan-Russian bilateral relations, some media outlets broadcasted news that the two parties had announced the formation of a coalition.
