\nThe new Moldovan Parliament will, most probably, be unable to amend the Constitution prior to election of president, presumes the First Deputy Chairperson of the Liberal Democratic Party, Moldovan Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the ProTV Channel on Monday night, he explained that the Parliament will have too little time for the complicated procedure of entering amendments into the Main Law. Besides this, the Communist Party will not provide the non-communist majority with the votes it will require for the amending.<\/p>\n

"What use it is for the Communist to vote for the draft amendment, which stipulates that President shall be elected by only 52 deputies, not 61 as now, and which will mean that the Communists let us rule the ball without them?" wondered Alexandru Tanase.<\/p>\n

In his words, a way out of the deadlock is to elect president with the Communist Party’s help.<\/p>\n

"There exists no other solution except negotiations. You cannot force anybody into voting. The majority alliance must work out an absolutely clear stance on this question, and it is only after this that we should put forward arguments for the Communists to consider", said Tanase.<\/p>\n

He reaffirmed that the LDPM is not going to form whatever coalition with the MCP, and Vladimir Voronin’s hints concerning such possibility are merely intended for disorienting the Moldovan society and the would-be governing coalition.<\/p>\n

The First Deputy Chairperson of the Liberal Party, Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca presumes that a party, which would enter into a union with the Communist Party, will simply vanish as such.<\/p>\n

"Coalitions are not formed on corpses. Partners are supposed to have sincere, honest relations between one another, and no one should pull the blanket on himself", said Chirtoaca, and admitted with regret that the LDPM violated this simple principle in its relations with the Liberal Party.<\/p>\n

Honorable Chairman of the Democratic Party Dumitru Diacov offered an opinion that in a coalition of 3 or 4 constituent organizations, like in the case with the Alliance for European Integration, one party wins at elections whereas other ones may be not that successful. He complained that the Communists and even partners in the AEI used to attack the Democratic Party very painfully during the previous election campaign, and as a result, the Democrats remained without key posts in the past government.<\/p>\n

Diacov said he is expecting from LDPM leader Filat a list of proposals for forming a new governing alliance, though Diacov said he is not ruling out a dialog with the Communist Party.<\/p>\n
