\nWe will start talks with the Democratic Party (PL) and the Liberal Party (PL) on 30 November. Any coalition with the Party of Communists is ruled out. The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), Vlad Filat, made statements to this effect at a today’s news briefing on the results of the 28 November snap parliamentary polls.<\/p>\n

Filat stressed that he has not yet discussed with his colleagues from the Alliance for European Integration (AIE). "Most likely, we will start discussions and will come out with offers on 30 November. We are waiting for the official outcomes of the Central Electoral Commission."<\/p>\n

The PLDM leader said he is contented with his party’s electoral results. "I think that the PLDM has won this election. In only one year, we improved out results more than two folds. The AIE parties were short of very few [votes] for a comfortable majority." At the same time, he said that "the winners are Moldova’s citizens" and "we must manage their votes carefully."<\/p>\n

"We are obliged to succeed, as Moldova will not resist another period of political instability. We are to work so that the parliament is viable, we should be able to elect the parliament’s leadership, designate the government and elect the Moldovan president," Filat specified. He avoided saying what state post he would like, given that the PLDM picked up the highest number of mandates of the AIE parties. He specified that this will be established during negotiations.<\/p>\n
