\n"I has always said that personal ambitions and narrow parties’ interests should take a back seat. My eventual presidential office has nothing to do with ambitions, it is about what people want. And they want this," the leader of the Democratic Party, Marian Lupu, has said.<\/p>\n

Referring to an eventual post-electoral coalition, Lupu said that the Democratic Party (PD) was open for dialogue with all formations that would make it to the parliament after the 28 November polls. He noted that this dialogue "should not be based on personal vanities or corporate interests, but on the principles Moldova needs."<\/p>\n

Lupu said he does not rule out the creation of a grand coalition in order to overcome the political crisis and to avoid snap parliamentary polls next year. "We have always focused on partnership and we have never asked ourselves whether we join other parties or not. It also depends on the way the parties acted during the electoral campaign. The representatives of the Party of Communists have treated me in a very mean way," the PD leader said.<\/p>\n

Marian Lupu said he voted hoping that the election outcome would "help us put an end to the constitutional crisis." He voiced hope that after the polls it would be possible to elect a president, to appoint a new government and "to start working."<\/p>\n
