\nMoldovan acting President Mihai Ghimpu has cast his ballot for European values and for four years of democratic government that would bring Moldova closer to the EU. Ghimpu was speaking while leaving the polling station where he voted today at 9:00 jointly with his wife.<\/p>\n

"I came to vote for Moldova’s future and for liberal values, without which Moldova has no prospects. I am thinking of people’s freedom, economic freedom, rule of law, free media. Everyone should vote for these values."<\/p>\n

Ghimpu expressed conviction that the today’s early parliamentary election would put an end to the constitutional crisis. "I cast my ballot for four years of democratic government, during which all citizens will have jobs," Ghimpu said.<\/p>\n

The acting president pointed out that the Party of Communist should accept any choice made by the citizens.<\/p>\n
