\nAfter the November 28 early parliamentary elections, the Republic of Moldova will find itself in a situation when it would be more advisable to choose the path of a two-party system in the republic, presumes prominent Chisinau political scientist Vitaly Andrievsky.<\/p>\n

He took part in a roundtable conference on questions of European integration and Transnistrian conflict settlement, held in Chisinau today, and stated that very many parties will be strongly disappointed with election results.<\/p>\n

"Only the Communist Party and the Liberal Democratic Party have chances for a real success. No matter which of them will be in the power or in the opposition, these two organizations will be further strengthening. On the one side, the LDPM has chances to absorb a multitude of small Right and Right-Left parties. And on the other, the Communist Party ought to get reformed, updated and modernized as well as to consolidate the Left segment of the Moldovan political spectrum", presumes Vitaly Andrievsky.<\/p>\n

In his opinion, the Communists have more chances to come back into power, and the Liberal Democrats will, most probably, be in the opposition, but even in such event the two major forces can well collaborate efficiently for the country’s sake.<\/p>\n

Political scientist Victor Borsevici presumes that no matter who comes to rule Moldova, Chisinau ought to avail itself of the European Union’s interest for the republic so as to thus resolve domestic problems.<\/p>\n

"Moldova is becoming a focal point that is attracting the interest of the European Union. I don’t think the EU leaders are demonstrating their care for Moldova because they are worrying that Chisinau will upset the European integration schedule. No, they simply want to make Moldova serve kind of a sanitary shield, and stability zone.
