{"id":167078,"date":"2010-11-15T10:47:16","date_gmt":"2010-11-15T10:47:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.moldova.org\/2010\/11\/15\/government-approves-national-strategy-on-state-border-management-213826-eng\/"},"modified":"2010-11-15T10:47:16","modified_gmt":"2010-11-15T10:47:16","slug":"government-approves-national-strategy-on-state-border-management-213826-eng","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/government-approves-national-strategy-on-state-border-management-213826-eng\/","title":{"rendered":"Government approves national strategy on state border management"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span><p>\nPrime Minister Vlad Filat last week chaired a cabinet meeting, the government&#8217;s communications and press relations department has said.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of the meeting, the premier expressed discontent with the activity of the Medication Agency, pointing to serious problems on the Moldovan medicine&#8217;s market, especially those related to the formation of prices.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, the government backed the proposal to dismiss the director-general of the Medication Agency, Nicolae Onilov, and to appoint Maria Cojocaru-Toma to this post.<\/p>\n<p>The government approved the National Strategy for Integrated Border Management for 2011-2013.<\/p>\n<p>The strategy&#8217;s main goal is to carry out the state&#8217;s policy on integrated border management in line with the main international, national and regional policies.<\/p>\n<p>The implementation of the strategy is a prerequisite for successful negotiations on an association agreement with the EU and the dialogue on a free trade regime with the EU. The implementation of this concept shows that Moldova is ready to contribute to security in the region, in order to become a reliable EU partner in border control and management of migration flows.<\/p>\n<p>Moldova will be assisted technically and financially to carry out the strategy by its development partners, by cooperation with the EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM), the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders of the Member States of the European Union (FRONTEX) and the EU border services.<\/p>\n<p>Another decision approved by the government today sees the reformation of the Interior Ministry. Interior Minister Victor Catan said that the reform would comprise amendments to the legislative, normative, institutional and functional framework, including transfer of improper functions and attributions to other institutions, as well as their takeover by other authorities, in case they comply with the direct duties of the Interior Minister.<\/p>\n<p>The government approved a draft law on the resumption of direct connection of e-communication networks on both banks of the Dniester river. Under the decision, the State Chamber of Registration will register Transnistrian enterprises dealing with telecommunications and will issue registration certificates to them. Furthermore, the National Agency for Regulation of e-Communications and Information Technologies will also issue the licences these enterprises need to operate.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Information and Communication Technologies Minister Dorin Recean said that the decision allows facilitating the procedure of recording Transnistrian enterprises and connecting them to the Moldovan telecommunication zone. He added that following the implementation of the decision, the fee on phone calls would decrease and the telephony services would improve.<\/p>\n<p>Also today, the government adopted a decision which sees that concert halls, theatres, art schools, libraries and museums reporting to the Culture Ministry shall organize a string of events dedicated to International Student&#8217;s Day marked on 17 November.
