The Alliance for European Integration is interested in organizing and holding a free and fair early parliamentary election because we want that our citizens fully trust the parties that will come to power.<\/p>\n

Acting President Mihai Ghimpu made the statement today at a meeting with the head of an OSCE missionthat will monitor the 28 November polls, Peter Eicher, the presidential press service has said.<\/p>\n

Ghimpu said the alliance would do its best to organize and hold a free and fair election because the future authorities should fully enjoy people’s confidence in order to be able to implement projects aimed at reforming and modernizing Moldova. "It will be possible to meet the objectives of restoring the national economy, attracting investments, erasing poverty and ensuring the European integration only if the new government enjoy people’s full confidence and support," Ghimpu said.<\/p>\n

The acting president said he was firmly confident that after the 28 November polls, political stability would be established in Moldova, making it possible for the new government to carry out all its modernization programmes. "The Moldovan citizens have become aware that all reform projects can be implemented only through national consolidation and with support from the international community, which has backed the alliance’s programmes all along the last year," Ghimpu said.<\/p>\n

Peter Eicher said his mission would monitor the development of the electoral campaign, the implementation of the electoral legislation, the operation of the Central Electoral Commission and of relevant governmental institutions, as well as the way inquiries would be dealt with.<\/p>\n

The OSCE official said this parliamentary election is very important for overcoming the political crisis in Moldova, which will make it possible to continue the processes of modernization and construction of a democratic state based on the rule of law.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
