The recognition of the steps undertaken to democratize Moldova is a significant reference point for the Moldova-EU political dialogue. Also, aspects such as the liberalization of the visa regime, prospects for negotiations on the creation of a deep free trade zone, micro-financial assistance for Moldova, as well as the prospects of settling the Transnistrian conflict are positively covered in the text of the conclusions,&quot; the prime minister stressed.<\/p>\n<p>Vlad Filat said that the government highly appreciates the Council&#8217;s decision to invite the European Commission to elaborate an action plan on the free visa regime so as to shift to the operation stage of the Moldova-EU dialogue on visas.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;This plan provides for conditions the observance of which will allow Moldovans traveling to the European Union without visas. We recall that the liberalization of the visa regime is a commitment which we undertook ever since taking over the government, and towards the fulfillment of which we have constantly moved over the last year. I assure you that we will further act firmly and quickly, so that the Moldovan citizens travel without visas as early as in 2012,&quot; the prime minister said.<\/p>\n<p>Vlad Filat appreciated the fact that the Foreign Affairs Council emphasizes in its conclusions the very positive dynamic of the Moldova-EU relations in the last year, and recognizes Moldova&#8217;s active contribution to this. Vlad Filat said that this appreciation of the Council is in full harmony with the provisions of the European Parliament from 21 October 2010, as both documents are focused on exemplary relations and commitment between Moldova and the EU.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The Council&#8217;s Conclusions on the Eastern Partnership meet Moldova&#8217;s expectations, while the actions undertaken by the Moldovan government within this EU initiative just have the goal to get Moldova closer to the EU.
