The Parliament voted in the final reading legal amendments that will allow the students vote, in the next parliamentary elections, at the voting stations close to the institutions where they are students.<\/p>\n

In order to do so they will need to submit the student’s card, ID and sign a One’s Own Responsibility Declaration, based on which they commit not to vote repeatedly.<\/p>\n

The communist opposition criticized this draft law, considering that by this procedure violations are possible. They know quite well violations are almost improbable, because at each voting, according to Moldovan legislation, a stamp is placed on the voter’s ID attachment.<\/p>\n

Previously Moldovan communists used to “dislike” the younger generation with the right to vote, and used to by all means impede their participation in the voting.<\/p>\n

The most obvious action in this regard was in 2009 when for repeated voting the communists assigned Wednesday as repeated election day, in mid-week, which was intended as an outright defiance of students’ right to take part in the vote, as well as of the Moldovan citizens residing abroad.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
