On September 12 on Publika TV there was displayed a caption: „\u015etefan Urâtu: Ghimpu is very labile, very flexible” and, so we become witnesses of a discussion about the efficiency of a president, which is an essential signal of a veritable democracy, that R.M. needs as much as air. I think that several years ago this kind of subject very improbable would have been possible to be discussed on TV.<\/p>\n

It is still on incipient stage, with mostly emotional rather than rational criticism, but anyway is essential. Even if somebody thinks that Moldova has had more to lose than gain from presidency period of Mr. Mihai Ghimpu, it is interesting to pay attention to why they think so:<\/p>\n

(i) he has big shortages in his general culture,<\/p>\n

(ii) he has displayed a somewhat comic aspect,<\/p>\n

(iii) that he associates with the image of a wise peasant from Coloni\u0163a (name of the native village of the president), etc., but, the more they advanced in discussion, the „critics” got unmasked by themselves – actually they are disturbed by president Ghimpu’s verticality, which allegedly costs us too much.<\/p>\n

In other words, one could easily conclude that this is a typical attitude of the kind of people for whom the verticality or integrity of a president is not an essential value, and for whom courage to prove that in the society there could be still some values, does not matter anymore.<\/p>\n

By coincidence, on Unimedia.md there is a good piece of news, which informs us that the Mayor of Shanghai mentions that China has a great potential in terms of consumption of Moldovan wines.<\/p>\n

The piece of news is both attractive, concluding and timely, that, nevertheless, no matter how simplistic one could be in views, anyway should admit that if there are no leaders with verticality, this kind of chances, such as sales of Moldovan wines on Chinese market would not have emerge “out of thin air”.<\/p>\n

It is not accidentally, that in the R.M. there are „delivered philosophies”, that one should not confuse economic independence with the statehood independence.<\/p>\n

The indirect aim of these messages, which have been promoted by the ex-president Voronin during two mandates, even before that and nowadays, is obvious – to keep the R.M. in the captivity of economic dependence on Russian Federation, and, of course those who used to enrich on this fact, and, when for them it’s not suitable any more the verticality of a statesman, they start talking all kind of nonsense.<\/p>\n

Also, there could emerge „ideas” like what has Mihai Ghimpu to do with the initiatives of selling Moldovan wines in China?, and I believe that the answer will not have to be expected too long; I can only guess what could have happened to any of the former prime-ministers who might have dared to come with such initiatives during Voronin’s presidency …<\/p>\n

It isn’t nice not to admit the merits of a person complexly.<\/p>\n

This is why, even if there are some reasons for some discussions somewhere „in the kitchen”, which eventually extent to debates on TV, in the R.M. including, it is essential to see more substance – that thanks to Mr. Ghimpu, in a large extent, at least progressive ideas are supported and not vice versa, and this fact is an enormous step forward for the R.M.<\/p>\n

Also, one can conclude that the initiatives to sell the Moldovan wines on the Chinese market is also a prove of credibility towards the AEI on behalf of the foreign partners; I should stress – with perspective to develop international trade relations based on partnership rather than unloyal competition, as previously.<\/p>\n

Thus, from the discussions on Mr. Ghimpu’ efficiency as president, this radically and unethically could speak only several categories of people: non-friends of the R.M., communists from the R.M., their servants, the ignorant, and the like, without being aware that if for the person approached in this article, genuine democracy wouldn’t have been a value, in line with integrity, this subject wouldn’t have been possibly to discuss.<\/p>\n

About comparison between Mihai Ghimpu and Vladimir Voronin I just do not want to be critical, but I believe that one should admit – how could one discuss about shortages in general culture of Mr. Ghimpu after 8 years of Voronin’s presidency?<\/p>\n
