The chairman of the Popular Christian Democratic Party of Moldova (PCDPM) – Iurie Roshca – stated in a press conference, on the second day after the referendum held on September 5, 2010, that the leaders of the AEI must return those MDL 40 mln. to the state budget. “I think it is high time to ask them publicly be kind and redeem this money to the state budget. There are four of them, let’s collect 10 mln. each and the issue is settled”.<\/p>\n

To mention is that the real costs declared by Publika TV channel was that for the referendum was spent MDL 33 mln., i.e. by MDL 7 mln. less than Roshca claims.<\/p>\n

During 8 years of communist government, before 2009, the PCDPM was blamed of having had a undeclared, but very well-coordinated coalition with the communists, and displayed particularly aggressive behavior against the representatives of the democratic parties.<\/p>\n

The major discrepancy between the PCDPM and the other democrats of the Moldovan political class seems to have started after public revelations emerged, on behalf of two of his party members, that this party leader decided to hide one of his party comrades (Vlad Cubreakov) for some time under allegations that he had been kidnapped by unknown people.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile he was trying to “raise money” as financial support for ransoming the allegedly kidnapped party comrade, and a huge scandal followed in media, with an unclear outcome so far, this investigation still being open.
