Moldova is interested in the Common European Aviation Area with the European Union and intends to join it. The statement was made by Prime Minister Vladimir Filat by means of a letter sent to President of the EU European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso.<\/p>\n

Filat said that Moldova tends to liberalize its air transport and is ready to allow in the country low cost air companies.<\/p>\n

"Concluding an agreement concerning creation with the European Union of a common aviation area is a priority state objective. I would like to inform on the matter that the republic of Moldova is ready to initiate as soon as it possible negotiations regarding its joining to the Common European Aviation Area", Premier said.<\/p>\n

Filat proposed to Barroso to send a mission in Chisinau which will estimate the state preparation level to liberalize the airspace, and also to create a group of the EU representatives to conduct a dialogue concerning the new cooperation framework in the air transportation area.<\/p>\n
