Deputy Premier, Foreign and European Integration Minister Iurie Leanca paid a working visit to Budapest on 25-26 August at the invitation of his Hungarian counterpart Janos Martonyi, the ministry s public relations department has said.<\/p>\n

The visit took place against the background of extremely positive evolutions in the bilateral cooperation relations and of the prospects for Hungary to take over the EU Presidency on 1 January 2011.<\/p>\n

The sides reviewed the latest evolutions in Moldova s European integration process. In the context Martonyi reiterated Hungary s support and commitment to continuously promote favourable positions to Moldova s European integration within EU institutions. He encouraged positive dynamics of the pace of negotiating an association agreement with the EU, the shift to the operational stage of dialogue on the liberalization of the visa regime, as well as the launch of negotiations on the creation of a comprehensive free trade regime with the EU.<\/p>\n

The ministers agreed to organize exchange of experience for Moldovan negotiators to borrow good practices in the creation of a comprehensive free trade regime from Hungarian experts in Budapest, as well as political consultations on European integration in Chisinau in October.<\/p>\n

Taking into account the eastern partnership summit that will be held in Hungary during its EU Presidency, the Hungarian side underlined the importance to fully use the opportunities offered by this forum in order to reach Moldova s European integration goal.<\/p>\n

The two top diplomats also agreed to bolster economic cooperation by using the existing potential and by stepping up new mechanisms and tools of cooperation. In the context, Hungary expressed interest in extending its investments in Moldova s economy.<\/p>\n

During the visit, the sides signed the Joint Declaration on cooperation in European integration between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Hungary.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
