According to this way of thinking, the actions taken at that time by the Moldovan constitutional authorities and ordinary citizens to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova are negatively perceived as an expression of the &quot;Moldovan nationalism&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>In order to be as rigorous and objective as possible in the evaluation of the 1992 tragic events, which had a strong impact on the Moldovan society from both banks of the Dniester, those who follow this logic should make an adequate assessment of the secessionist forces that fought against the constitutional authorities in Moldova&#8217;s Transnistrian region. Relevant Moldovan-Russian agreements and decisions by prestigious European forums on the case of Ilascu group, including the decision by the European Court of Human Rights, should serve as documents of reference in this respect.<\/p>\n<p>From this perspective, the recollection of events from our recent history and of its protagonists should not be perceived as a dangerous tendency able to raise concerns. In the context, we reiterate the firm political will of the Moldovan current authorities, which has been displayed by concrete actions, to bolster confidence between the two banks of the Dniester and to settle the Transnistrian issue by political means. In this respect, Moldova further relies on the valuable contribution of all actors involved in the five plus two negotiations, including the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n<p>The anti-constitutional Transnistrian regime will celebrate the day of the self-proclaimed Moldovan Transnistrian republic soon. We call on the Russian authorities to refrain from participating in the actions planned to this end in the eastern Moldova in order not to give the impression of supporting the Transnistrian separatism, as well as to prove their commitment to the principles of the international legislation and good relations among states by specific deeds. This will be in line with the friendship and cooperation agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation, which stipulates that &quot;Each of the High Sides of the Agreement shall refrain from any actions which might damage the other High Side, the sovereignty, the independence and its territorial integrity.
