"Leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova Marian Lupu represents the interests of Russia", said ex-political prisoner and Ilascu group member Andrei Ivantoc in response to the Lupu’s negative reaction to awarding Ilascu group with Ordinul Republicii [state order].<\/p>\n

"What Russia will order, he will do it. All I can say is – Father, forgive him; he does not know what he is doing. After this, I am asking myself, does he deserve to run for presidency", Ivantoc said about Lupu.<\/p>\n

He added he will support in current presidential elections the candidature of acting president Mihai Ghimpu. "I am not intending to deal in politics. As a person and a citizen I am supporting Ghimpu because he is a sincere person, which call the things by their right names", Ivantoc said.<\/p>\n

According to him, although he is a free person for 3 years, he does not feel safe in Moldova. "Some cars with Transnistrian identification numbers are permanently pursuing me. My life here is in danger, because Russian security forces are always satisfying their caprices. Anyway, I am not going to leave Moldova", said the ex-prisoner.<\/p>\n

Ilascu group lawyer Stefan Burlaca said he will fill sues against all people which make discriminatory statements against group members. He said Ilascu group members filed many sues for aspersion, but its examination is being delayed or groundlessly rejected by state courts.<\/p>\n

Burlaca said he is helpless in the problem of making Russia responsible for its statements in Moldova without consent of Russia. "For us is important to show the intention to bring Russia to book, and let Russia decide by itself if it wants to come in Moldovan court", he said.<\/p>\n

Ex-political prisoner and Ilascu group member Tudor Popa said the 180-thousand-euro damage established by the European Court of Human Rights as a compensation for group members was paid by Russia (120 thousand euros) and Moldova (60 thousand euros).<\/p>\n

Last week, in an interview Marian Lupu said he considers the presidential decree of awarding Ilascu group as an "extremely right approach".<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
