The cabinet today approved a regulation of financing the acquisition of dwellings for flood victims, the government’s communications and press relations department has said.<\/p>\n

The regulation sees 1 November 2010 as deadline for buying houses for flood victims. Until then, the State Chancellery, which is in charge of purchasing the dwellings, will set up a commission to negotiate the purchase of houses for the flood victims who did not want to construct new houses, but chose to purchase constructed dwellings. Preliminary estimations show that about 71 dwellings will have to be bought to this end.<\/p>\n

State Minister Victor Bodiu specified that the commission of negotiators will include representatives of the State Chancellery, Construction and Regional Development Ministry, Finance Ministry, Land Relations and Cadastre Agency, the head of the flood-hit district, the mayor of the concerned settlement and an expert in assessing dwellings.<\/p>\n

The government also decided to earmark 128,000 lei for the departure of 200 children from flood-hit settlements to a leisure camp in Romania. The money will be allocated from a special account opened to assist the flood victims.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Vlad Filat praised the promptness of the competent services which dealt with the issuance of IDs for the children who are to rest in Romania at the invitation of this country’s authorities. He asked to ensure the children’s security starting from the moment of the departure till the return.<\/p>\n

Also today the cabinet declared 30 August as day-off, and 18 September 2010 will be a working day. The decision was taken to secure the good organization of the labour and leisure time in August 2010, given the range of holidays in the concerned period.<\/p>\n

At the same meeting, the government approved a draft law on amending and supplementing the Moldovan penal code. The draft is aimed at adjusting the national legislative framework to the international standards, enhancing the responsibility of economic agents, limiting the access to Moldova of goods and raw material without proof of their origin, as well as preventing money laundering and corruption among the public authorities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
