The Moldovan citizens will not be put stamps in passports while crossing the state border starting fromyesterday. At the same time, the concerned procedure will be applied only at the citizen’s request.<\/p>\n

The director-general of the Border Guards Service, Alexei Roibu, has earlier said that, after the removing of the procedure of stamp’s application in passports, the time of stay of the Moldovans, who are set to leave Moldova or come to the country, will be shortened. The new changes were coordinated with the border guards from Romania, Ukraine and Russia.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the foreign citizens will be further put stamps in their passports while crossing the frontier.<\/p>\n

The Border Guards Service removed the concerned procedure, following a request by Prime Minister Vlad Filat at a cabinet meeting on 29 July 2010.<\/p>\n

The prime minister said that the application of the stamp in passports speeds up the change of the concerned document, and leads to additional costs for citizens and useless procedures for the Border Guards’ Service.<\/p>\n
