Prime Minister Vlad Filat today visited the construction site meant for houses for flood victims, the government’s communications and press relations department has said.<\/p>\n

Dwellings for flood victims from the Cotul Morii village, Hincesti district, are to be constructed on a surface of about 100 hectares.<\/p>\n

Decision-makers presented a project of the future village. Sample projects of the houses having one to four rooms were presented as well.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Vlad Filat asked to fully mobilize the forces, so as to provide the people with houses before the cold season. The prime minister said that this populated area should become a model one.<\/p>\n

Vlad Filat said that some of the construction works are likely to continue in 2011 too. He specified that, by the beginning of the cold season, the houses must have at least one room and kitchen ready.<\/p>\n

The prime minister called on decision-makers to involve the local residents as well as firms from the area in the construction works.<\/p>\n

"It is not obligatory to seek economic agents from other regions, if you have the opportunity to sign contracts with local ones," the prime minister said, stressing that all the firms are to be selected on a contract basis.<\/p>\n

The prime minister said that the needed construction materials should be listed, reminding that Romania promised assistance in this respect.<\/p>\n

The prime minister asked that all the necessary preparations should be made in advance, so as to receive this assistance quickly.<\/p>\n

The prime minister demanded that the exact number of houses which are to be constructed and their type should be presented in the days to come. Vlad Filat also asked to speed up the opening of construction sites in the flood-hit villages of Obileni, Nemteni and Sarateni, Hincesti district.<\/p>\n

"This is an exam that we all are to pass and I urge you to mobilize yourselves so as to manage to cope with the set goals," the prime minister said.<\/p>\n

Also today, Vlad Filat visited the dams in the villages of Nemteni and Leuseni. The prime minister asked competent people to consolidate them to avoid eventual dangers.<\/p>\n
