Moldova will benefit from the European Union’s support in the regional policy field. Prime Minister Vlad Filat and European Commissioner for Regional Development Johannes Hahn signed a declaration on dialogue on regional policy between Moldova and the European Commission in Chisinau last week.<\/p>\n

After the signing ceremony, Vlad Filat said that the declaration is important for Moldova, and hence, for each citizen, as Moldova shifts to another level of the dialogue with the European Commission on the country’s regionalization.<\/p>\n

The prime minister said that, within this dialogue, Moldova will benefit from EU expertise and experts at a level which will make it possible to implement this process with the necessary speed and the highest efficiency. We will further be insistent, consistent in our actions so as to attain the European values as soon as possible, Vlad Filat stressed.<\/p>\n

Asked by journalists to say whether the Transnistrian region has a special place in this document, the prime minister said that Transnistria, as a distinct region, has its place in the regionalization process. Filat said that the actions which are to be undertaken will proceed from the present realities in this zone. He added that many insistent measures to this effect will be taken in the next period.<\/p>\n

Johannes Hahn said that Moldova registered positive evolutions in many policy sectost. He emphasized that the EU will further provide support, as regional development is a key field for the country’s development in general. At the same time, the European official reiterated an invitation to Moldovan politicians and experts to visit separate European districts, so to take over the experience and thus have a starting point for subsequent actions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
