Moldovan citizens will have the possibility of receiving multiple 60-months visas for the USA starting from June 2010. So far, visas for the USA were issued for three and 12 months.<\/p>\n

Thus, the US consulates and embassies will issue visas to Moldovans applying for the following categories of visas: transit, crew members, academic studies, seasonal workers, journalists, cultural exchanges, transfers among companies, non-academic studies, workers with extraordinary skills, sportsmen and artists, international cultural exchanges and religion-based visas.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Moldovan authorities will issue labour\/stay permits for 60 months to US nationals, compared with 12 months so far.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Vlad Filat told a news conference today that the facilitation of the visa regime would help remove impediments to travels to the USA and will increase the number of people travelling from one state to another. This will contribute to stepping up cooperation between the two states, Filat said.<\/p>\n

US Ambassador to Moldova Asif J. Chaudhry said that the facilitation of the visa regime is a major achievement of Moldova’s foreign policy and an obvious progress in relations between the two states, which will lead to the rapprochement between the two peoples.<\/p>\n
