The today’s parliament meeting was cancelled because of lack of quorum. This happened after three non-affiliated MPs had left the hall, as they were discontented that a draft law proposed by them was not included in the meeting’s agenda.<\/p>\n

After a 30-minute break, Speaker Mihai Ghimpu said that the parliament takes a pause till 18 June at 10:00 because of lack of quorum. Ghimpu added that the parliament’s regulation will be soon amended, so that 51 MPs will represent the parliamentary majority and not 52, as it has been so far.<\/p>\n

The meeting was cancelled, after three MPs of the United Moldova group had left the session hall, as they were angry that a social draft proposed by them was not included in the agenda. The group’s leader, Vladimir Turcan, said that he will come to the meeting on 18 June too, stressing that he will leave the hall if the draft proposed by them is not included in the agenda.<\/p>\n

"The draft law which we propose regards the interests of people working abroad and their families and it is to the advantage of Moldova’s economy. This is a draft law under which, people who have already gained financial sources should be given the possibility to invest in businesses by exempting them from taxes for a period of 2 to 5 years," Turcan said.<\/p>\n

Asked to comment on a statement made by the Party of Communists (PCRM) saying that it broke all relations with the Alliance for European Integration (AIE) and withdrew all the initiatives, including the constitutional amendments, the AIE leaders showed astonishment. The leader of the Our Moldova Alliance (AMN), Serafim Urechean, said that he was the only one from the AIE to accept dialogue with the PCRM, but he said, "Voronin is a man with whom one cannot speak."<\/p>\n

The leader of the Democratic Party, Marian Lupu, the leader of the Liberal Party, Mihai Ghimpu, as well as the leader of the parliamentary faction of the Liberal Democratic Party, Mihai Godea, said that so far they have had no cooperation ties with the parliamentary opposition either.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
