The members of the commission for the elucidation of causes and impact of the post-electoral riots on 7 April 2009 have contradictory positions on the matter.<\/p>\n

The head of the commission, Vitalie Nagacevschi, has told MOLDPRES that, in his tenure of jurist, he believes that the riots were not a coup d’etat, but the representatives of the opposition Party of Communists (PCRM) in the commission believe that they were.<\/p>\n

The commission has not yet set the date of presenting the report to the parliament for consideration. "When the report will be discussed in the parliament, all the commission members will make public their conclusions and recommendations," Nagacevschi said.<\/p>\n

The MP added that the commission members have not yet established whether the report will be examined at an ordinary meeting or at a special one. "The report will be unveiled to the parliament’s plenum at one of the next meetings, it is already on the agenda of the parliament’s Permanent Bureau," Vitalie Nagacevschi said.<\/p>\n

He also said that, most likely, the commission members will present different conclusions on the report. "The members of the Alliance for European Integration (AIE) in the commission and the communist MPs failed to reach consensus on the matter," Nagacevschi added.<\/p>\n

The communist lawmakers from the commission practically denied the conclusions presented by the AIE representatives in the report. The latter was to be made public in late last April, but the MPs asked for time to study it. The report was elaborated by a special commission made up of four Communist MPs, two lawmakers of the Liberal Democratic Party and one MP from the Liberal Party, Our Moldova Alliance and Democratic Party each.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
