Moldova’s acting President and Parliament Speaker Mihai Ghimpu met the teaching staff and students of the State University of Physical Education and Sport, the presidency’s press service has said.<\/p>\n

Mihai Ghimpu, teachers and students discussed the situation in Moldova. The university’s staff backed the leadership’s initiatives to carry out reforms aiming at overcoming the crisis situation. Ghimpu said that he "positively appreciates the civic position of the young generation, which wants a change and decent living in the European family."<\/p>\n

The acting president said that the implementation of programmes of Moldova’s modernization and reform is possible only with the massive support of the residents. Mihai Ghimpu stressed that the current Moldovan leadership does its utmost to overcome the constitutional crisis, as Moldova needs a lasting political stability for its further development. <\/p>\n

"We cannot permanently be in constitutional crisis or hold snap elections, as they do not allow us carrying out projects to reform the state. We have one interest in everything we do – not to lose one more chance given to change Moldova," the acting president said.<\/p>\n

Mihai Ghimpu also said that the authorities would consider the elaboration and adoption of a law on sponsorship, as nobody presently wants to make investments, if there are no legal pre-requisites. <\/p>\n
