The law on the election of Republic of Moldova president has been modified on October 30, 2009, through legal means. This was the verdict of the Constitutional Court brought in today. The Court rejected the demand of communist MPs Vadim Misin and Maria Postoico that stated “the Parliament violated the fundamental legislation when making changes in the Moldovan president’s election procedure”.<\/p>\n

„By means of this decision, the CC provided the Parliament the right to interpret the Constitution. We think this decision decreased the Court’s authority”, PCRM representative at the Constitutional Court, Sergiu Sarbu, said.
\nAs a reply to the above-mentioned statements, the representatives of the Parliament, Ion Creanga, said “the Constitutional Court makes abstract and general interpretation of the constitutional norm, while the Parliament examines the case when taking decisions through the organic law. This thing proved to be fair and correct, according to the decision of the Constitutional Court”.<\/p>\n

We specify communist MPs Vadim Misin and Maria Postoico filed a complaint to the Constitutional Court that required the control of the legal character of art.10 (3) of the Law “on the procedure of election of Republic of Moldova President”.<\/p>\n

Communists do not agree with the item the Legislative power may be dissolved only after one-year mandate since the last dissolution (currently referring to June 16). They asked the Constitutional Court to see whether the Parliament had violated the Constitution when modifying the Law on the Republic of Moldova President election procedure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
