Director of Assurance Department of PricewaterhouseCoopers, Dorin Dragutan, is one of the candidatures of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) to the position of governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), proposed by Speaker of Parliament Mihai Ghimpu, at the sitting of the Permanent Bureau of the Parliament held on Wednesday, November 4.<\/p>\n

Dragutan is the candidature of the Liberal Party to this position. At the moment of publishing the news, he could not be found to comment on this.<\/p>\n

The Parliament declared vacant the position of governor of NBM on October 2, after the seven-year mandate of Leonid Talmaci expired on September 26. At the sitting on October 2, the lawmakers were to examine the candidature of Corneliu Ghimpu proposed by speaker Mihai Ghimpu to the position of governor of NBM, but at the beginning of the sitting the speaker of parliament withdrew the issue from the agenda of the day.<\/p>\n

The candidature of Corneliu Ghimpu, nephew of the speaker of Parliament, raised discussions among the AEI and banking environment.<\/p>\n

Leonid Talmaci had acted as governor of the NBM and chair of the Board of Directors of the bank for 18 years and almost four months. He headed the central bank from the moment of its establishment in June 1991 through 25 September 2009.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
