Russia is interested in the stabilisation of the political situation in Moldova and settlement of the political crisis once the president is elected. This is the conclusion of the leader of the Democratic Party (PDM) and candidate of the Alliance for European Integration (AIE) for the office of president, Marian Lupu, after a recent visit to Moscow.<\/p>\n

Lupu told a today’s news conference that he met the head of the Russian presidential administration, Sergey Naryshkin, and representatives of the One Russia Party, whose leader is Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n

The PDM leader denied any connection between his visit to Moscow and the one of the leader of the Party of Communists (PCRM), Vladimir Voronin, stressing that he made no parallels in this respect during his meetings in the Russian capital city. Marian Lupu failed to say concretely whether he got Moscow’s support for his candidacy for the post of president, stressing that this depends on the PCRM MPs.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Lupu reiterated his willingness to hold dialogue with the Party of Communists, rejecting the notion of negotiations.<\/p>\n

The leader of the Democratic Party said that he would pay a visit to Brussels in the near future as well.
