Natalia Gherman presented the main provisions of the new Moldovan Government&#8217;s work program to the Troika of the Council of the European Union on Eastern Europe and Central Asia (COEST) in Brussels on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Natalia Gherman highlighted the importance of resuming full-scale negotiations on Transnistrian conflict settlement in the 5+2 format, and of fulfilling the 1999 OSCE Istanbul Summit decisions on removing foreign troops and armaments from the Moldovan territory.<\/p>\n<p>The Deputy Minister welcomed the broadening of European Union&#8217;s support for Moldova, including financial one, to help strengthen trust between the two Dniester River banks for the sake of resolving the Transnistria problem.<\/p>\n<p>The European Union representatives spoke out for Moldova&#8217;s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and stressed the importance of resuming negotiations between all sides concerned.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting participants underscored the importance of a soonest-possible restarting of talks on concluding a RM-EU Agreement on Moldova&#8217;s associated membership of the EU, which would include a provision on creating a free trade zone.<\/p>\n<p>Gherman drew the EU officials&#8217; attention to the importance of liberalizing a visa regime for Moldovans as a first step to dialog.<\/p>\n<p>It was said at the meeting that the forthcoming visit to Chisinau to be paid by Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt will promote Moldova&#8217;s dialog with the European Union on cooperation deepening issues.<br
