Participants in the seventh session of the council of the interparliamentary assembly of the Community for Democracy and the Rights of Peoples uniting Georgia’s Abkhazia and South Ossetia and Moldova’s Dniester republic have adopted an appeal asking the Union State of Belarus and Russia to give the assembly the status of permanent observer at the union state’s parliamentary assembly.<\/p>\n

The session of the interparliamentary assembly was held in Sukhumi on Tuesday, 29 September. Abkhaz parliament speaker Nugzar Ashuba, the parliament speaker of the Dniester Moldovan republic, Anatoliy Kaminskiy, South Ossetian parliament speaker Stanislav Kochiyev and MPs from the three republics took part in it. Nugzar Ashuba welcomed chairmen of the community.<\/p>\n

He noted that the past year had been fruitful and active. "The platform of the Community for Democracy and the Rights of Peoples was used effectively. We voiced all our problems precisely from this rostrum, and even being unrecognized were able to communicate with the highest political leadership of Russia, well-known politicians and scientists," the speaker said.<\/p>\n

The participants of the interparliamentary assembly adopted a range of documents on joining international charters, in particular the charter on the elderly, the European convention on human rights and fundamental freedoms, and conventions of the International Labour Organization.<\/p>\n

The parliament speaker of the Dniester Moldovan republic, Anatoliy Kaminskiy, has been elected to chair the work of the parliamentary assembly next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
