All Moldovan parliamentary parties stated to the press on Tuesday night they were obeying to the Constitutional Court’s ruling and would shortly resume regular work at the legislative forum.<\/p>\n

LDPM First Deputy Chairman, lawyer Alexandru Tanase, who attended the CC session yesterday as a spokesman of the democratic parliamentary majority, stated to the press upon hearing the Court’s decision that the Court made a fair ruling, and he was deeply satisfied with it.<\/p>\n

"Though the six Judges’ votes split equally, it is essential that the Parliament’s decisions, including the election of a new Speaker [Liberal Party Chairman Mihai Ghimpu] have remained in force. But the chief thing about all this is: the Court decision proves Moldova is getting back on its democratic development track", the parliamentarian said.<\/p>\n

Liberal Democratic Party leader Vlad Filat said, "It was a historic day. State interests were placed above party interests. Now it is essential to concentrate on tackling country’s vital problems".<\/p>\n

Democratic Party Chairman Marian Lupu named the Tuesday "a day of the triumph of law. It proved once again Moldova must become a law-governed state. The Constitutional Court’s decision will accelerate the solving of other problems, formation of parliament bodies, and overcoming the political crisis. Now a dialog with the Communist Party is needed in order to agree upon the principles of electing a new president for Moldova".<\/p>\n

Moldova Noastra Alliance leader Serafim Urechean said the CC ruling is an extra proof that citizens should trust the Alliance for European Integration.<\/p>\n

"We were stating from the very beginning we had not violated law. Now we must invite the Communists to Parliament’s plenary sitting on Thursday in order to put an end to the ongoing political confrontation. If the Communists really don’t want to provoke a new parliamentary election, they must come and vote for electing a new president. I think there are enough patriots in the Communist ranks", said MP Urechean.<\/p>\n

One of the prominent-most personalities in the Communist Party, MP Vadim Mishin, who also took floor at the Constitutional Court session yesterday, stated to journalists that the Court had not practically taken any concrete decision because the Judges’ votes split into three and three.<\/p>\n

His party comrade Vladimir Turcan, who was authorized to present the MCP’s position in the Court, stated after the session the Communist Party shall obey to the CC ruling and shall embark on routine parliamentary work.<\/p>\n

"I can say that the Court’s decision has not changed our plans. We were supposed to continue our parliamentary work in whatever case. The Constitutional Court has solved the problem from a juridical viewpoint, but from a political point of view a lot of questions are now arising", Turcan said.<\/p>\n

He stressed the Communist Party will continue efforts to create a left-centrist coalition in parliament, "and I believe sooner of later we will reach an accord on it".<\/p>\n

Parliament Chairman Mihai Ghimpu said now the Parliament must focus on the problems the Moldovan society faces.<\/p>\n

"We know what pressure was put on Constitutional Court judges by the Communist Party and personally by acting President Vladimir Voronin, who do not wish to surrender state power democratically. Nevertheless, the Constitutional Court made this ruling in conformity with the law, not by somebody’s order", Ghimpu said, and once again called the Communist Party to dialog, which he believes is the only possible means to overcome the political crisis.<\/p>\n

As Infotag has already reported, on Tuesday night the Constitutional Court completed considering the Communist Party’s appeal concerning the legitimacy of the election of new speaker of parliament, and left in force the decision passed by the democratic parliamentary majority last August 28.<\/p>\n

The majority Alliance for European Integration set the next parliament’s plenary sitting for September 10, when the forum is supposed to elect deputy speakers and proceed with forming the Parliament’s working bodies – the Permanent Bureau and Standing Committees.
