The Constitutional Court (CC) rej ected the Democrat Christian Popular Party’s (PPCD) request to reccaunt the votes expressed in the preterm parliamentary elections on July 29.<\/p>\n

According to several sources within the constitutional body, the PPCD’s request was rejected and qualified as unfounded, given that its authors did not mention any specific cases of violation of the election law during the election process.<\/p>\n

On August 3, PPCD submitted a request to the Constitutional Court through which it asked for the recalculation of the votes of the preterm scrutiny, on grounds that the party does not agree with the final election results. The authors mentioned that in the scrutiny on July 29 various irregularities and violations of the election process committed by the competitors and election staff were found.<\/p>\n

According to the final data of the scrutiny on July 29, five political parties passed the election threshold in order to accede in the Parliament: PCRM that gained 48 mandates, PLDM – 18, PL – 15, PDM – 13 and AMN – 7 mandates.<\/p>\n

The Central Election Commission (CEC) will send all the necessary documents to the Constitutional Court on August 7, which will decide upon the July 29 scrutiny validation in yen days.<\/p>\n

On July 29, PPCD did not manage to pass the 5% threshold in order to accede in the Parliament, gaining 1.91% of the electors’ votes.
